Jesus welcomes children fully and without hesitation, rebuking the disciples for hindering them and teaching that the kingdom belongs to those who receive it like a child.
Adults often create roadblocks—misplaced priorities, reluctance to influence children in faith, and dismissing children’s simple spiritual understanding—that unintentionally keep children from Jesus.
Children’s faith is real and meaningful, even when they don’t grasp complex theology; adults should affirm their questions, nurture their curiosity, and let them come to Jesus as children.
The call to “let the children come” extends globally, urging Christians to lament and act on behalf of children suffering from hunger, disease, trafficking, and war.
