• Pastor Suzanne kicked off our new sermon series called “All Eyes on Jesus” on the book of Matthew. 
• She talked about how the book of Matthew was intended to help us understand how Jesus fulfilled and reimagined the words of the Old Testament. 
• She reminded us that Christianity is a Jesus-centered faith, and therefore we the Old Testament is supposed to help us understand Jesus and Jesus is supposed to help us understand the Old Testament. 
• We are spending some much time this year in this Gospel of Matthew to help us better know Jesus because: “When we look at Jesus, we are seeing the best representation of God that we can understand. If you are looking for someone to

show you compassion

extend you unconditional love

call out hypocrisy

fix the injustice in the world

remove your shame 

heal your pain

show you how to live with purpose

show you how to live with genuine love for others

The stories and teachings of Jesus are the very best place to start. They give us a window into the character of God.”
