Sermon Recap:

• Pastor Suzanne launched our new sermon series called, “The Good News about the Good News.”
• She talked about how “sharing the gospel” or evangelism has often been misconstrued or misunderstood by some as trying to scare people into avoiding hell or manipulating people into saying a certain prayer or believing a certain set of things.
• In this series, we are going to reimagine what it means to share the good news:
  • Mission isn’t fueled pressure but joy
  • Participating in the kingdom isn’t fear but freedom
  • Interacting with the world isn’t about manipulation but love
• Our job is not to save anyone, but to live in a way that models God’s kingdom.

• Have you ever been on the side of someone trying to “evangelize” you? What was that like?
• How have you been taught about evangelism? What was good or exciting about that? What felt bad on produced anxiety for you?
• What has actually felt like Good News to you about the Gospel of Jesus?
